Japanese Summer Festival

Today was one of my favorite days of the year. Where everyone (mostly Asians) gather, eat food, play games. Basically to have a great time. Though I do that every
day, what made this day special compared to any other day was because of Japanese Summer Festival.

I haven't gone anywhere over the summer, except to grocery shopping and frequent driving lessons by Mum. So I was really excited for the festival, the most enjoyable activity I had was goldfish scooping (金魚掬い kingyo sukui, to be more accurate). Here's what should've looked like:

You see, there's a couple swimming in that bowl. MY bowl = O a big fat O. Yeah, pathetic. Doing it for the first time may have been a contributing factor. . .

After, my mum had bought my family a drink, which was frozen. So I had done what anyone would've done in a car. Warm it up with your hands to the extreme, with intense pressure.
Oh, my teeth weren't a big help. Biting into plastic isn't my thing. Just under an hour before all melted and quenched my thirst. And look at the size of that. World record for slowness? My sister won it. I came second to last.

New Year Begins!

What's so great about new years?
Personally for me, and well as many other people, it's a new beginning. I'm going to reflect my past year 2010, and overcome what I can achieve for 2011.

For 2010, I did many life changing things:
* Moving from NC to WA was pretty main thing for me. By this, I have gained new perspectives such people, weather, and education. It also had an impact that throwing away your junk is quite tough, I regret a lot of things I did not bring.
* Had a vacation in Japan: Visiting my grandfather's grave was cool. I met my father's side of the family and realized that my cousins were twice older than me.
* Losing my suitcase during the travel. This was a catastrophe. My clothes were gone, the spare SD card for my camera... only arrived the day leaving Japan. This experience had changed me. I should be grateful for a few things, not wanting for more and more.
* Recording what I read and when finished. I did this so I can see how my books affects test scores on reading. For 2010, I read 47 books (4 Japanese, 43 English)
* Received about 30 Shonen Jump Comics (composed of many chapters from various mangas). This wasn't a good thing but made me realized that if you happen to give out your possessions, you somehow receive something in return (indirectly).

It's time that I made more positive changes for 2011:
* again record my books that I read, but will be more than 50!
* challenge myself to get a Varsity Letter in community service. Perhaps gold metal for 250 hours?
* Part-time job. I've been dreaming about going to interviews and making money for the past 2 months. It's time that I become independent and getting out of the house instead of earning allowances for massaging my parents. I do that for free :)
* Take Biology and Algebra II online. This I cannot be sure. It's something I want to do.

These are my reflections. I wonder what somebody else's look like...

Happy Year of the Rabbit everyone!

Harry Potter! Harry Potter!

Oh gosh! It's coming! I mean it came!
I can hardly wait to go see it tomorrow!
The last Harry Potter movie, part 1.
I'm watching it tomorrow, and go to Panera Bread for lunch. It's gonna be amazing and intense...! OHhh...
I wish it was tomorrow already.

Besides that, I'm reading the Cirque du Freak series and I am absolutely glued to it. I can't sleep at night because I want to know what's gonna happen next.

Also, my English class is starting to read the Animal Farm, but I already read it in the summer, so I mostly know what it's about. (_ _*)

Thanksgiving potluck

Church was great today, I got to eat tons of food, and I'm still full. Even after 5 hours.

Anyway, I made cookies that were incredibly crappy in health the other day. It so wasn't worth skipping breakfast for.
The before and after: Left is before the baking, and right is baked. Not much different is it? 'Cause there is no difference, the size pretty much didn't change at all.
The stuff that were in the cookies were macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips.
It sounds good, but the actual thing itself is really not that tastey.
I watched Avatar yesterday, it was awkward watching it with my sister and Dad...
Oh, I got the HBO channel for the flat screen tv so it really had some theater effects in the living room. :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Boy, it's been a month since I last posted something on my blog. sorry, sorry. (>_<) Anyway, tomorrow is Halloween and I'm deciding that I'll stay home and watch some scary movies instead of trick-or-treating the neighborhood.
Two years ago, I did something similar because my mother told me that I shouldn't go. But this year, I do not feel like going. I know people are gonna tell me that you're never too old to go trick-or-treating, and I think so too. But I feel weird this time. I wanna go trick-or-treating 'til midnight, I wanna have my stomach filled with unhealthy, delicious sweets, I wanna stay at a party and watch scary movies til I'm scared to go to the bathroom alone.
But this year, I just have this feeling that I shouldn't go.
