Okay to be different

I heard it's already the tennis season in a small city of NC. But in Washington state, where I'm from, it's in the spring. What's with that? So when they're suffering from the sweltering sun and avoiding dehydration at all cost, I will be doing everything I can to keep my toes from frost bite (although just trying to survive try-outs). Technically, it's still winter when the season starts, just end of February.

What I also will be trying out for is basketball. Like I can get passed that. . . Who knows any Asian (Japanese, to be specific) girl in a varsity basketball team? Not around here. My height is a hindrance, too. Yet, that's a plus. If I'm tall but still am not good enough, it will be embarrassing to not make the team. Anyways, IF I won't get cut, it will be an unusual experience, kind of exciting to be that one girl in the team with shiny black ebony hair. The only nerd, too, I suppose. Time to start training myself!
